What a lab result in three weeks cannot tell you
A laboratory confirms. It does not tell you what to do this afternoon. A rapid test does not replace the laboratory; it answers the questions that cannot wait for it.
- Can these plants leave the nursery today?
- A rapid test answers on the day, before stock is dispatched, planted or sold.
- Which samples are worth sending?
- Screen a block first, and the laboratory’s time goes on the plants that matter.
- Is the clean stock still clean?
- Routine screening between formal indexing rounds catches a problem while it is one plant, not one house.
- What do we do while we wait?
- A positive screen means hold and isolate the plants. A negative is not proof of absence.
We are currently seeking new partners
If you make plant-pathogen tests, sampling consumables or farm-gate biosecurity supplies and want a distributor in Australia and New Zealand, talk to us. We name no supplier until an agreement is signed.
What the range will cover
The formats below are the shape of the range we are building. Each format answers a different question; the support page says which.
Lateral flow
Strip tests read by eye, on the bench or in the field.
ELISA
Plate assays for a laboratory, many samples at once.
LAMP and molecular
Nucleic-acid tests: isothermal (LAMP) and PCR reagents.
Sampling and extraction
Bags, buffers and tools to take and prepare a sample.
Hygiene and farm-gate biosecurity
Disinfectants, footbaths and signage for the farm gate.
